What wecollect andwhat we don't.

A short policy, because we collect very little. Written to comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

01

Who controls your data

AwardOrFree is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy at brief@awardorfree.com.

02

What we collect

If you submit an application, we collect what you type into it: your name, email address, organisation, existing website, budget range, timeline and your answers to the written questions. That is the entire set.

If you email us, we hold that correspondence. We do not buy contact data, we do not enrich what you give us with third-party databases, and we do not maintain a marketing list.

03

Why we hold it, and on what basis

We process application data on the basis of legitimate interests — specifically, assessing and responding to an enquiry that you initiated. Once an engagement begins, we process it to perform that contract.

We use it to evaluate the project, reply to you, and keep an accurate record of what was agreed. We do not use it to profile you, and no automated decision-making takes place: a person reads every application.

04

How long we keep it

Declined applications are deleted within twelve months. Records relating to projects we deliver are kept for six years after the engagement ends, which is the period we are required to keep business and tax records under English law.

You may ask us to delete your data sooner, and unless we are legally obliged to keep it, we will.

05

Who else sees it

Our hosting and email providers process data on our behalf under written terms that restrict them to acting on our instructions. Where data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by International Data Transfer Agreements or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertising networks. We do not run third-party advertising or social tracking pixels on this website.

06

Cookies

This site sets one strictly necessary cookie, which records your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page. It contains no identifier that can be linked to you and requires no consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.

Analytics cookies are optional and are set only if you accept them. They tell us how many people read a page and which pages get abandoned. They are aggregated, IP addresses are truncated before storage, and they are never used to build a profile or to advertise to you.

There are no marketing or third-party tracking cookies on this website, and there is no legitimate-interest loophole in our banner. If you decline, nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookie is set, and declining takes exactly one click — the same number as accepting.

You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

07

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we process it, and to receive it in a portable format. Exercising any of these rights is free and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would prefer you told us first so we can fix it.

This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales. If we change it materially, the revision date at the top of this page changes with it.
